Pancakes For Breakfast on Those Not So Busy Mornings

We are so busy as a society now that a good home cooked breakfast has become a thing of the past. Or at the very least, something that we maybe take part in on Saturdays or Sundays. Most people simple grab a quick bowl of cereal, or eat a breakfast bar or piece of fruit in the car on the way to work.

Now I have a question to ask. Whom among you would love to have the time to sit down to a big stack of warm, buttery pancakes. I see a lot of hands going up right now. Unfortunately, pancakes take a few minutes to make, and a busy person might not have that much time in the morning.

I understand that it is easier to make a bowl of cereal or grab some fruit. Heck, even eggs are easier. Sure they take a few minutes to cook, but once you crack the shell there is very little to do. Pancakes involve more steps to make including mixing batter, flipping the pancakes, and so on. Clean up is usually a bigger task as well.

But, when you do have the time to make pancakes, it is important that you do it right. The point that most people mess up on, and this included me at one time, is flipping the pancake. Most people usually destroy the pancake if they don't have the practice and pancake flipping know how.

To flip properly, you need the right tool. That tool would be a spatula, and preferably one made from a non-stick surface. On the first flip, the trick is to get the spatula cleanly under the pancake quickly. And the flipping must be done quickly as well, otherwise you risk losing the uncooked top!
